Indian Startup Uses Dehydrated Produce For Its Snacks

Indian-based food processing startup Rynsan Creation Pvt. Ltd. is using solar dehydration technology to create its dried fruit and vegetable snacks. Rynsan Creation uses the whole fruit and seasons it with spices and honey. Its products, such as Spicy Dried Pineapple and Dried Wild Apple, are sold in several general stores throughout Meghalaya. Rynsan Creation aims to build upon its product range and expand its distribution across the country.

According to the U.S. Grains Council, a team from a leading food and beverage production company recently visited North Dakota and Kansas to learn more about product development using sorghum. The team spent time learning about the U.S. sorghum market, available varieties, sorghum composition and production practices, while also meeting with potential suppliers. The group was also interested in looking at the science of sorghum used in their snacks, particularly on its extruding and puffing qualities.
