Aspire Foods’ London Cricket Plant Lands Deal With Lotte Confectionary Corp

September 16, 2022: 12:00 AM EST
Aspire Foods has landed a multimillion-dollar deal to sell its crickets to Korean food producer Lotte Confectionary Corp. The crickets will be hatched and grown in its London cricket factory and shipped to Korea beginning in October. Although Aspire has sold cricket powder for use as a human food additive in the U.S., it is the London plant’s first deal to sell crickets for human consumption. Up to now, the London plant has only sold crickets as an additive for pet food. The agreement will lead to Aspire’s cricket powders being sold into Asian and European markets.
