June 22, 2023: 12:00 AM EST
Freekeh Harvest, a US-based startup, debuted with its Baked Pita Chips at the NYC Fancy Food Show. The chips are made from freekeh, a slow-roasted ancient Mediterranean super grain known for its nutty and smokey flavors. Freekeh Harvest claims to be the sole brand in the US snack market using freekeh grain. Each 5oz bag of chips provides 6g of protein and 3g of fiber, while also being vegan, non-GMO and free from artificial colors, flavors, cholesterol and trans fat. The chips come in Sea Salt and Everything flavors and are available in over 40 stores across Michigan.
