Kellogg’s Will Not Appeal After UK High Court Ruling On HFSS Regulations

August 6, 2022: 12:00 AM EST
Kellogg's legal challenge to the UK government’s HFSS regulations has failed, and the company will not appeal. The company is continuing its non-HFSS reformulations and product launches. Special K is undergoing reformulation this year to become non-HFSS, and Kellogg's is removing 10 percent of sugar and at least 20 percent of salt from its kids' cereals to make them non-HFSS in the same timeframe. The company is vague about what proportion of its cereal sales are expected to be HFSS, but its Crunchy Nut, Frosties and Krave cereal will continue to be HFSS.
