Manhattan Bakery Unveils A Colorful Twist On An Old Pastry Favorite

The latest New York City food craze comes from the creator of the cinnamon bun-stuffed doughnut and birthday cake croissant. Chef Thiago Silva this time has created red velvet croissants – papery layers of red pastry filled with cream cheese frosting. Silva’s croissants are also available at his Union Fare bakery in Manhattan in other flavors including matcha tea. Whether they will achieve the social media popularity of cronuts or rainbow bagels remains to be seen.
