“New York-Style” Bagels Can Have Blueberries And Peaches, Right?

June 14, 2017: 12:00 AM EST
National chain Bruegger’s Bagels, founded in Troy, N.Y., and headquartered in Dallas, Texas, still promises authentic New York-Style bagels. The company says its summertime menu is inspired by the kind of seasonal ingredients “you'd find while strolling through a farmers’ market on a summer morning.” The menu features sandwiches and bagels made with avocados, peaches, blueberries, tomatoes and basil. The Pretz Mex, for example, is a pretzel bagel made with spicy guacamole, egg, peppered bacon and Swiss cheese. The Sweet Georgia Turkey sandwich is made with peach preserves, roasted turkey, muenster cheese, and tomatoes served on butter-toasted tomato basil bread. [Image Credit: © Bruegger's ]
