Nudie Snacks Turns “Wonky” Cauliflower Into Snack Chips

August 21, 2020: 12:00 AM EST
The Scottish snack company’s new Cauliflower Crisps are made from 40 percent fresh cauliflower grown in Scotland. The crisps, available cheese and caramelised onion and katsu curry flavors, contain no artificial flavorings or colorings, are low in sugar and 40 percent lower in saturated fat than traditional potato crisps (chips). The company says they are also reducing food waste because they are made from vegetables often thrown out because they don’t meet standard shape and size requirements. Nudie Snacks also markets lentil curls flavored with chilli and lime, quinoa chips with sundried tomato and garlic, lightly salted roasted corn, lightly salted hummus chips, and popcorn. A box of 12 22-gram, 118-calorie bags of Cauliflower Crisps is £9.99 ($13.13).[Image Credit: © Nudie Snacks]
