PepsiCo Exhumes Crystal Pepsi For Another Try At Soda Success

PepsiCo announced that it is reanimating Crystal Pepsi, a clear cola introduced in 1992 and terminated a year later, for a limited time in the U.S. and Canada. The move, “inspired by overwhelming fan demand,” will be supported by an ad campaign that includes the revival of another ‘90s artifact, an online version of The Oregon Trail computer game. Crystal Pepsi test-marketed the reintroduction in the U.S. last December using a sweepstakes on the Pepsi Pass app. The new campaign will begin July 11 in Canada and August 8 in the U.S., with 20-ounce bottles available at major retailers for $1.79.
