Pie-Sharing Program Benefits The Community, And The Pie Baker

November 15, 2016: 12:00 AM EST
An innovative pie-baking entrepreneur with a soft spot in her heart for her fellow man has launched a program that encourages customers to share pie with strangers. The “Pie-It-Forward” initiative is also clever marketing, of course, because customers not only buy pie for themselves, they buy one-slice coupons that are displayed in the Detroit, Mich., bakery (Sister Pie, left)and can be grabbed by anyone. "It's a way to provide pie for a variety of people, people who are hungry, or people who have never been to our pie shop before," said Sister Pie owner Lisa Ludwinski. ]
