Sweet Earth Foods Enters Snacks Arena With Meatless Jerky

The plant-based food specialist (Moss Landing, Calif.) has launched a shelf-stable snacking jerky in two Asian-inspired flavors: Spicy Kung Pao and Sweet Korean BBQ. The company – it offers 75 plant-based food products – says the plant-based jerky snacks deliver “the meaty taste and texture of traditional jerky with bold, craveable flavors.” Each flavor contains 13 grams of plant protein and no artificial flavors or colorings. Spicy Kung Pao Jerky will be available on-shelves and online starting this month at Hyvee, Kroger, Amazon.com and Amazon Fresh. The Sweet Korean BBQ Jerky variety will be hitting shelves later this year. According to market researcher, the plant-based jerky market has grown 38 percent since 2018.
