Teenage Sisters Keeping Kellogg’s Accountable For Palm Oil Policy

March 5, 2023: 12:00 AM EST
British teenage sisters Asha and Jia Kirkpatrick have been campaigning to stop Kellogg’s and other industry players from using palm oil in their products. In 2020, the sisters’ actions convinced the company to change their palm oil policy. Kellogg’s set a goal of procuring 100 percent Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil Physically Certified palm oil by the end of 2025. However, the sisters have expressed concern that the policy change is an empty promise. Later this month, the sisters and Kellogg’s Global Sustainable Sourcing Expert will be meeting to see what progress has been made and what more can be done.
