California Dairies Inc. Launches BFY Snack Brand In Good Hands

California Dairies Inc has announced the launch of BFY snack brand In Good Hands and its first product line, Nacho Cheese Protein Puffs and White Cheddar Protein Puffs. The company’s Protein Puffs are gluten-free and contain 12 grams of milk protein, 1 gram of sugar and 130 calories per serving. California Dairies Inc. is the largest member-owned milk marketing, and processing cooperative in California, co-owned by more than 300 of the state’s dairy producers. In Good Hands’ Protein Puffs are available on the brand’s website, with more flavors to come early this year.

Rivalz To Launch BFY Combos-Style Snacks

Snack start-up Rivalz has closed a round of angel funding and is set to debut its savory filled bites this spring. The product is positioned as a healthier take on Combos, a brand of stuffed snacks owned by Mars, Inc. Rivalz’ vegan snack is formulated with yellow pea protein, containing 8 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per serving. Rivalz products will be available to purchase on its website and in select retail channels in flavors including Late Night Pizza, Extra Chedda’ Mac and Spicy Street Taco. The capital raised during the funding round will be used to expand the team, support retail and direct-to-consumer channel growth, and invest in technology to optimize production and improve scalability.

Entrepreneur Aaron Gailmor will pitch Brass Roots, a line of climate and keto-friendly snacks, on the Jan. 20 episode of Shark Tank. Brass Roots’ snacks are made from sacha inchi, a “ancient superfood” native to Peru that contains high levels of protein, fiber and omega-3s. Allergen-friendly snack brand Undercover Snacks is expanding distribution of its Chocolate Quinoa Crisps to Publix. Three of its nine flavors will launch at the retailer: Dark Chocolate + Sea Salt, Milk Chocolate, and Dark Chocolate + Blueberries. Kellogg-owned healthy snack brand Pure Organic has launched its second product - baked cheese crackers. The crackers are made with hidden veggies and are available in Garden Ranch, Parmesan Garlic, and Double Cheddar flavors. Each baked cracker box features a QR code that directs consumers to the website for No Kid Hungry — a nonprofit that supports ending childhood hunger. The baked crackers are available at Kroger markets nationwide for the suggested retail price of $4.49.
