My Dad’s Chips, a Maryland-based potato chip company, has secured a major distribution deal with Rainforest Distributors that will expand its reach across the US. The deal will bring the chips to locations from New Jersey to Virginia and eventually Whole Foods Market stores. My Dad’s Chips are made using a proprietary oil blend that the company claims allows it to use 22 percent less salt than competitors. The chips are already sold in around 65 retail locations, 24 office building cafeterias and 200 vending machines, and the company has a private label contract with a sandwich shop in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.

Nature's Path Foods is facing a class action lawsuit in California that claims the company falsely advertised its granola cereals as healthy despite containing high levels of added sugar. The lawsuit alleges the products’ packaging claims the granola cereals provide a "wholesome breakfast to nourish your day" and put consumers "on a better path to a healthier lifestyle”, despite studies showing the negative effects of excess sugar consumption. The lawsuit aims to represent anyone in the US who has purchased Nature's Path granola cereal for personal use since March 22, 2019.
